Welcome to planDisney, Jan!
For the ultimate immersive experience,
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is the place to stay. Not only can you take advantage of special benefits, like
Early Entry into the theme parks, but you'll enjoy comfortable and spacious rooms, themed pools, and award-winning dining. If you want to celebrate a special occasion, try and get a reservation for
Napa Rose. Also, did you know that Guests staying at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa can use their own designated entrance to
Disney California Adventure Park? You're in for an amazing time, Jan!
Figuring out how to get back to the airport on the day you check out is the worst part of planning a Disney trip. On my last trip, I had to be back at LAX by 6:00 AM! We had to be up at 4:00 AM and we didn't get back from Disneyland Park the previous night until midnight. It was torturous! Totally worth it, though.
There are a few different options for you, Jan. The first option is to use a shuttle service.
Disney recommends Karmel Shuttle. I haven't used these personally, however, my inlaws had a great experience with them. Just call them over the phone and you'll be able to make a booking. They have different-sized vehicles and can even accommodate kids too. The second option is to book a rideshare service, such as Lyft or Uber. My family did this at the end of our vacation and it worked out well. The final option is to rent a car in Anaheim and drop it off at the airport. Whatever you decide to do, you probably want to give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport. The traffic can be pretty terrible, especially in the morning. Therefore, I'd personally allow 90 minutes to get to the airport.
I hope that's helpful, Jan. Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney. Have a magical trip!
Mike
