Hi there, Lizette!
Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney with your question.
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel is a fabulous choice—it combines the beauty of Craftsman-style architecture with the convenience of being right at the doorstep to the magic. I just spent a few days there myself last month, and you are absolutely going to love easy access to the parks, delicious dining options, and relaxing in your room or the stunning lobby.
I'm sure you are eager to get your Disneyland ducks in a row and firm up your plans. With just 3 days before your arrival, I would recommend calling
Guest Services directly to discuss your specific situation. I spoke with a Cast Member who suggested this also. Since you are in the 3-day window before arrival, it may be too late to make any modifications, but Guest Services will be able to look at your account more thoroughly to advise any options. Generally speaking, modification and cancellation deadlines vary based on whether you have booked a room-only stay or a Disneyland Resort Vacation Package that includes park tickets as well as hotel accommodation. If you have a package, once you are
within 3 days of arrival, the package is fully non-refundable, and no refunds will be made for early departures or unused tickets. With a room-only stay, typically modifications and cancellations need to be made within 4 days of arrival. I'm sorry, I know that was not the news you were hoping to hear, Lizette!
What I can tell you is that you will love every minute you are at the Grand Californian. I felt like a princess during my most recent visit. With some extra time, you can explore the dining options as well as some of the special offerings. I'd highly recommend making a reservation at GCH Craftsman Bar for dinner. Out by the pool just as twilight is setting in makes for a very relaxing experience and a contrast to the hustle and bustle of the parks! I also, for the first time, was able to take one of the
exercise classes! There are so many to choose from offered at the
Tenaya Stone Spa that range in intensity, so you can find something that works for you. I signed up for the Power Walking Workout through California Adventure. It was a blast to be up early and powering through the park before the day started, and I can't wait to try Yoga at Redwood Creek during my next visit.
Lizette, I hope this has been helpful in your planning. If you are unable to modify your visit, just know that you will be able to fill every extra moment with magic. If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at
planDisney.
See ya real soon!
