I'm quite envious of your stay at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. This is such a phenomenal resort and I just love all the details that make this such a welcome place to rest and recharge between your park days. You are correct that if your starting park for a day is at Disneyland park, you won't be able to scan your tickets and use the entrance into Disney California Adventure Park to start your day. You will instead use the entrance into the Downtown Disney District and then you will have just a short walk to the esplanade where you can enter Disneyland Park.
Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park are currently scheduled to open at the same time during the weekend of your arrival. The parks generally open at the same time every morning but frequently have different closing times. You can check
park hours on the calendar for your visit dates now, but I suggest checking again the week of your arrival to make sure nothing has changed.
The
Entertainment Schedule is also a great feature on the website and again I suggest checking this the week of your arrival. This will give you all of the times for the performances of the day, including the performances of the recently returned nighttime spectaculars! I suggest looking into a
dessert party or dining package to enjoy a meal that comes with a voucher for a reserved viewing area that night.
