Cheryl from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

We will be staying at the Grand California Hotel in Anaheim from September 8 through September 11. How many days ahead can we make dining reservations?

Hi, Cheryl - welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for stopping by to ask this great question about dining at the Happiest Place on Earth. I love where your head is at - food at Disneyland is usually where my head is at too.

Advance dining reservations at Disneyland Resort are open for booking up to 60 days prior to your visit, so you've got time to do some research on where you'd like to go! (This is my favorite part!) To search dining locations where reservations are accepted, scroll the options on the Disneyland website. Select a restaurant individually that interests you to see the times available or click on the blue "Check All Availability" button to log into your account and confirm party size and date, when it's your time to book. I prefer to make dining reservations through the Disneyland app by selecting "Dining" from the drop down on the park map and exploring around. This way I can easily see where the dining location is within the park and if it makes sense based on my plans for that particular day.

It's important to know, Cheryl, that the reservation system is updated regularly as Guests modify or cancel plans, so keep checking as your visit approaches if you have your heart set on a certain date or time. I tend to have a few dining reservations in my pocket and then make my final decisions as the time gets closer. No harm in having options! Just make sure to cancel any reservations you will not be using at least two hours prior to your reservation time or there will be a per person cancellation fee.

Not only do you have a countdown to visit the Happiest Place on Earth, Cheryl, but you will be staying at the most luxurious and convenient resort in all of Disneyland - the Grand Californian! How exciting! One of the best perks Guests are given while staying at this beautiful resort is the dedicated theme park entrance into California Adventure Park. You'll easily be able to head back to your room after a wild and wet ride down Grizzly River Run!

I hope I was able to provide some helpful information for you, Cheryl, and you feel more confident about dining reservations! As you continue to prepare for your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, though, don't hesitate to come back and ask me another question! I'd love to share more about my favorite dining locations in Disneyland and my best recommendations for a truly magical time.

    See you real soon!

    Cheers,
    McCayla

My love of Disneyland began as a little girl on Peter Pan's Flight and only grows with each visit. But even when I'm not physically at the Happiest Place on Earth, I truly feel that same joy when I can help others (YOU!) experience the magic of Disneyland Resort too.
