Hi Sarah,
Yes, there have been some changes regarding the
security procedures at Magic Kingdom Park. Previously, Guests staying at
Disney's Contemporary Resort,
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort or
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa boarded the monorail as they made their way to Magic Kingdom Park. When they arrived, they went through security right before scanning their MagicBands at the touch points in front of the Railroad Station.
Now, Guests traveling by monorail from these three resorts will go through security
before boarding the monorail. (Guests don't need to show
MagicBands until they enter Magic Kingdom Park.) Then, when they arrive at Magic Kingdom Park, they can proceed directly to the touch points. From what I have observed, the system works well. It alleviates some of the congestion among Guests entering the park early in the day.
If you have any additional questions as your stay at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa draws near, let us know. My friends and I here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel would be happy to help.
Wishing you many magical memories,
Jill
