Staying at GF Dec 9-15. Heard they are building an ALice in Wonderland themed water area? Does anyone have any info on this? Also, what are some fun things to do or see at the resort, besides character dining. Looking for some laid back ideas. Thanks!

    Hi there Tracy!

The Grand Floridian truly is one of my favorite Disney resorts! I really enjoyed researching the answer to your question because I'm so excited about the upcoming changes.  On my last visit in April 2012, the walls were just going up around the Beach Pool for renovations to the pool bar and the addition of a children's water play area that will be themed to Alice in Wonderland. Additional accommodations are also being added that will feature deluxe vacation club villas. While the pool bar is projected to reopen at the end of August 2012, I wasn't able to confirm the opening of the other features. I would suggest contacting the friendly cast members of the Grand directly at 407-824-3000 nearer to your December trip for additional details.

A great unofficial website for all things Lady Grand can be found at: www.wherethemagiclives.com. This fan site has an extensive list of the onsite amenities and activities as well as delightful photos that place you right in the heart of the magic, from the comfort of home. Let the daydreaming begin!

Thanks so much for visiting us here at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel! Wishing you a pixie-dusted trip this December!
