Hello, Staying at the FWL with my daughter who will be in a wheelchair. We only are staying for 4 days and want to make the most of it. Is there a certain building that is closer to the main building and boat, plus wheelchair access? Thank you.

    Hi Rebecca,

The good news about the Wilderness Lodge is that all of the rooms are contained in one main building. It would be beneficial, however, to have a room close to the elevators rather than at the end of a long hallway. The hallways are quite lengthy!

I would call and note your request on your reservation. Let them know that you prefer to be close to an elevator and the boat dock. Note that if you'll be using the buses that they are on the opposite side of the resort from the marina.

Finally, I just want to make sure that you are lodging at the Wilderness Lodge rather than Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground. These are two separate resorts which can be confusing. At Fort Wilderness, you can camp or rent a cabin. The Wilderness Lodge has hotel rooms.

If we can help any further, please stop back with any additional questions!
