Hi Marilena!
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is my favorite Walt Disney World Resort! My family tries to escape to Fort Wilderness a few times a year between the cabins and the campsites.
I highly recommend renting a golf cart. The main transportation around the Resort is by internal bus, which stops at every loop so it can take quite some time to get around. If you have your own golf cart, you can zip around quickly and direct. Many Guests decorate their campsites, so it's an attraction on its own driving through the loops to check out the various lights and blow ups. A night drive is the best! Advance reservations are almost necessary. A credit card guarantee is required, but you won't be charged until the day you pick it up.
The Fort Wilderness cabins are located in loops 2200-2800. The Wilderness Swimmin' Pool is close to these loops, but the Meadow Swimmin' Pool (the main pool) is a bit of a walk. Bus or golf cart is the best way to get to the main pool. Loops 2500, 2600, and 2700 surround the Wilderness Swimmin' Pool, so those loops would be the ones to request for that pool. 2200 is the closest to Meadow Swimmin' Pool. You can do a quick Google image search for "Fort Wilderness Map" to see where they are located.
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue and
Mickey's Backyard BBQ are both fantastic dining options. My kids, 5 and 8, would choose Mickey's Backyard BBQ because of the character interaction and dance party
Please stop back by if you have any additional questions about your Fort Wilderness vacation.
Have a magical day!
