We are staying in a FW cabin end of October w/ our 2.5 year old. We're interested in the Chip N Dale campfire, and being close to water transportation to the MK. What loop should we request to be closest to those? We're not renting bikes/cart.

As they might say at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground - Howdy Sharon!
My family loves staying in one of the delightfully rustic home away from home-sweet-home cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and for us I usually request a cabin in the fairly central 2100 loop.
We don't usually rent bikes of golf carts during our stays at The Fort either and have found using the internal Disney buses in this large Resort to be simple to navigate and very reliable - you'll find bus stops conveniently situated at the end of each loop which are within easy walking distance from your cabin.
I'm sure your little adventurer will enjoy meeting those nutty pals at Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-A-Long and I hope you'll be able to stick around afterwards for the Disney movie in a theatre under the stars!
If I can help further plan your visit to Walt Disney World Resort please pop back to ask me another question.
    Have a great Disney day.
