I am staying at the French Quarter in Spring 2008. They just added the pool to the list of refurbishments for end of January till mid March. Is Disney fairly good with getting things opened on time. Thanks.

Hi, Yes, for the most part they open when they say they will.  This happened to us when we stayed at the All-Star Sports, the pool was under refurbishment, we received a note in one of our confirmation packages, and giving us solutions, as it was to be closed when we arrived, but it turned out, they finished a bit early, and it was opened when we arrived.  We also discovered the Rock n' Roller Coaster was closed until the last Friday we were there it was to open and it did, so, what I did, I visited www.waltdisneyworld.com, and the then clicked on Magic Kingdom Park, and then Operational closings, and was able to view dates of all operational closings of all the different parks.  I gathered all of the information and then planned my visits, so we could get on the rides if they opened that week, or if they were going to close that week, we would get to them before they were shut down, like we did for the Thunder Mountain, it was closing the night of Mickey's Not so Scary Halloween last Sunday in September last year, and we managed to get on it.  There are times, when there are interruptions in the schedule, and things happen, but my experience has been, it has generally opened within the time frame that is stated.  Have a great trip!!!
