Hi Stephanie, and welcome to planDisney. Thanks so much for your question, it’s wonderful to have you here!
You are going to love your upcoming stay at
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – French Quarter. It’s one of the most charming resorts on property, with its cozy size, beautiful New Orleans theming, and, of course, those warm beignets that are perfect after a long day in the parks. The atmosphere is so peaceful, and being right on the Sassagoula River with boat service to
Disney Springs makes it extra special.
Technically,
Bell Services only transfers luggage between Disney Resorts Collection hotels. Since the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin are operated by Marriott and not Disney, they don’t fall under that umbrella. That being said, I’ll share my own experience. Last year, Bell Services at Disney’s Contemporary Resort was able to transfer my bags to the Dolphin, so you might get lucky as well. My advice is to ask at the desk when you check in, and if they aren’t able to do it, a quick rideshare or taxi is an easy backup plan. Once you’re at the French Quarter, Bell Services will happily hold your bags until your room is ready so you can head out and enjoy your day.
Since you’ll be only a short boat ride away, I recommend setting aside some time for Disney Springs. A fun morning can start with a cold brew and a creative donut from
Everglazed Donuts. For a meal, you can’t go wrong with the lively atmosphere at Rainforest Cafe or the waterfront dining at
The BOATHOUSE. To finish the night, I’d grab some cookies from
Summer House on the Lake before making the trip back to your resort.
I hope this helps you feel more prepared for your split stay, and
I’d be happy to share more tips for enjoying the French Quarter if you’d like.
