Staying at the FQ for 8 days. My husband and I would like to set on a balcony and drink some wine and enjoy each others company while the kids are sleeping. What resorts would you suggest? I'm afraid the FQ will be too small. Thanks.

Hi Mollie!  The Port Orleans French Quarter is a wonderful resort that has many return guests year after year. It is beautiful, romantic, yet fun for children all in one place.  To see many pictures of this resort you can go to the website, portorleans.org.

Two resorts come to mind when I think about sitting on a balcony and enjoying the views and atmosphere of Disney!  My favorite is the Yacht Club resort. If you ask for a water view room you can sit and enjoy the lights and action of the Boardwalk area across the water.  Not close enough to be noisy but not too far to not enjoy the magic of the evening.  When Illuminations takes place at EPCOT every evening you can often see the fireworks that are high in the sky and can definitely hear the booms and sometimes the music if the wind is blowing in your direction.

The other resort that has a special feeling is the Polynesian resort.  Many of the rooms have balconies and if you can get a room with a great view of the Magic Kingdom there is nothing more special then watching the lights and activity of this very wonderful park.  Every night you will also have a great view of the Wishes Fireworks....what could be better then that view!

Both of the listed resorts are in the deluxe category and thus higher costs then Port Orleans.  Please also understand that to get water view rooms at either resort you will be paying a higher price per night.  It is a wonderful amenity if you can include it in your budget!
