Hi there, We are staying at Fort Wilderness but I was wondering if we could visit Animal Kingdom Lodge and view the animals even though we were not staying at the resort. If so, what would you recommend as the best route for getting there. -Lisa

    Hi Lisa!

The Fort Wilderness Resort is one of the most unique Walt Disney World resorts. It is situated among many acres of pine forests which are inhabited by deer, turkey, and of course guests. The activities offered at this resort are immense and often quite different from other locations.

It is always fun to explore what Disney has to offer at other resorts on property. The Animal Kingdom Resort indeed offers their guests viewing of animals night and day. Visitors are more then welcome to come and view them as well and there are public paths and locations that they can enjoy.

You can drive yourself if you have a car or you can use the Disney transportation. Your third option is to use a taxi or Uber car but that of course would cost you extra money. It is quite easy to reach the resort and I would suggest you catch the Animal Kingdom Park bus from Fort Wilderness. When you arrive simply look for the sign for the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus and transfer to it. You can repeat these steps in reverse to head back to the Fort or anywhere else if you choose.

Enjoy your visit and be sure and stop and talk with some of the animal naturalists who are often walking along the paths. Many are from the African regions where the animals are from and can share their first hand knowledge with the guests.
