I am staying at Fort wilderness and I was wondering how magic hours work? How do I take advantage of them?

Welcome to planDisney, Ryan! I’m glad you brought that question to us! Some of my favorite Walt Disney World Resort vacation memories are from Disney’s Fort Wilderness! Trail's End Restaurant remains one of my favorite restaurants in the entire resort! It is currently closed, however, I am hoping it is going to reopen in time for our next visit!

A few months back, the Walt Disney World Resort announced that it would be discontinuing traditional Extra Magic Hours. However, at the same time, they announced a new benefit for Guests staying in the Disney Resorts Collection! This new benefit will allow Guests to enter any park, any day of the week, a half-hour earlier than posted opening time. Guests must have a valid theme park ticket and Disney Park Pass reservation for the park they wish to enter early.

A start date for this new benefit hasn’t been announced yet. The only clue that we have is that it is expected to start around the time of the big 50th-anniversary celebration which begins on October 1st. It is possible the benefit may be introduced before that date. Ryan, the parks do tend to open prior to the posted opening times, so arriving early never hurts!
