We will be staying at Fort Wilderness on our upcoming trip. Can we use our hammock at our site? It has the wide "tree-friendly" straps if that makes a difference.

Hi Cynthia! Fort Wilderness Resort is where my husband and I set up for the fall months. We love it there and find it so peaceful and quiet.

I have tried to get the official answer to this and can't get one or get one that duplicates another.  We often walk our dogs through the various loops and we can say we have seen a hammock now and then. We also see small tents put up in the woods next to the sites. But with that said there are many sites where they will not have trees that can hold a hammock and therefore it is simply lucky if you do. You can request a loop but cannot request a particular site and the sites are all very different. The foliage in many of the sites are more low bushy scrub like foliage and then there are some areas where you will find many pine trees.

Obviously, if Disney deems a tree is being damaged in any way they would certainly ask you to remove a hammock. Again this is spotty reinforcement and thus there is not a cut and dry right or wrong answer to your question. You can pack up the hammock which sounds lovely after a day in a park and if you have a site where it works you can try it out.
