We are staying at Fort Wilderness in our trailer. Many people suggest a golf cart to get around since Fort Wilderness is so large. We’d like to pack our bikes to ride around. Are there plenty of bike racks at the pool, the restaurants, and the dock area?

Hi Rick, and welcome to planDisney!

A stay at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is certainly memorable, whether in a trailer, a tent, or a cabin. It is one of my favorite resorts on property, and I truly understand why so many adore this peaceful resort.

I am a fan of the golf cart, as it has made getting around so much easier while we are on the property. Not only that but there is just something special about an early morning drive around just as the sun rises. Golf carts are available to rent, but if you decide to rent one, I recommend reserving your cart anytime up to a year before your arrival because they sometimes sell out.

You will find bike racks strategically placed throughout the property, including the marina, pools, etc. If you do not get to bring your bikes for some reason, bike rentals are available at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort for a fee. Either way, can you imagine riding your bike in the afternoon, enjoying the sights and stopping at the Meadow Trading Post for a cold drink, and then taking a quick break to enjoy the rocking chairs on the porch of the Meadow Trading Post.

For your enjoyment, be sure to review the Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground planDisney pocket guide. You are going to have the best time at Walt Disney World Resort!

Please return should you have additional questions before your arrival.

    Have a magical experience!
