We are staying at Fort Wilderness and have a reservation for a dinner character greet. Can we drive to the Contemporary and is there a charge for parking for dinner

Welcome to planDisney, Cindy! Thanks so much for sending us your question! How exciting that you have a vacation planned to The Most Magical Place on Earth!

You have chosen such a fun location for your visit by staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort! I visited this cozy resort last month and loved it! I always love making advanced dining reservations and it sounds like you do too! There are a couple of options you have for traveling from your resort to Disney's Contemporary Resort. You can drive and park at the Contemporary Resort. Standard self-parking is complimentary while you enjoy dining at this resort. You can also take a complimentary water taxi from Disney's Wilderness Lodge to Magic Kingdom Park and then take a walking path to the Contemporary Resort. This walk will take you approximately 10 minutes. I mention this option because I have taken the water taxi and the nighttime views on the water are so beautiful! Depending on the time of your dinner reservation, you might even be able to see Disney Enchantment, the new fireworks spectacular at Magic Kingdom.

Chef Mickey's was one of my kids' first and favorite character dining experiences! I know you will have a great time! As you are planning your vacation, be sure to check out The Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration! There are so many fun things to see and do that you won't want to miss!

Wishing you a very magical and memorable Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

    Happy Planning!
