Howdy Paul! Welcome back to planDisney. Thanks for stopping by with another great question.
I'm happy to hEAR you'll soon be a Guest at
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground; it's such a lovely and relaxing retreat, but just a stone's throw away from the
Magic Kingdom Park. I can't wait for you to see how dazzling
Cinderella Castle looks with its latest 50th-anniversary sparkle.
Paul, at this time due to construction in the area, the trail that runs between
Disney's Wilderness Lodge and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is not accessible. Even if it were open, as a runner who has previously used the path as an exercise route, I would not recommend it for a Guest using a mobility device; some sections of the trail are unpaved and uneven, so not the ideal terrain for an ECV driver. If you are driving your vehicle to Walt Disney World, I suggest using it to reach
Whispering Canyon Café.
Parking at Resort Hotels is complimentary while you enjoy a meal with an Advanced Dining Reservation.
If your breakfast of fantastic frontier fare is scheduled to take place later in the morning once theme park transportation is up and running, another option is to take the watercraft to the Magic Kingdom Park from your resort and then transfer to the boat or bus that will take you to Disney's Wilderness Lodge. This more "scenic route" could take at least an hour, so plan accordingly if you decide on the Bay Lake boat tour. For more information regarding potential transportation services for your party, contact
Disability Services at (407) 560-2547 or disability.services@disneyparks.com.
I hope this has been helpful as you finalize plans for your upcoming adventure. If there is anything else we can do to make your stay more magical, please stop by and see us again.
You've got a friend in me,
Betsy
