    We're staying at Fort Wilderness in October. Without knowing the campground schedule yet and wanting to take advantage of Halloween activities there, what might be the best day of the week to plan on spending at the campground rather than a park?

    Hi Neely!

    The Fort Wilderness Resort is a great place to stay during the October Halloween activities. This is the place to be to see and experience so many fun activities.

    My husband and I spend our falls at the Fort and will be there in October. The events can change from year to year as far as the schedule goes but the one given thing is that the great trick or treating will always be held on October 31 no matter what day of the week it is. It is the only place where families can enjoy a true Halloween tradition by going from loop to loop to gather some great treats from the Fort Wilderness campground guests. This is definitely a perk for those staying at this resort as it is closed to all others.

    This resort also has some fun pool side activities such as pumpkin carving and other holiday crafts. These are usually done in the afternoon hours so a visit to a park in the morning is a safe schedule to keep. The golf cart parade is another great tradition and will usually take place the day before Halloween. Again this is an early evening affair so a day in the parks is definitely possible to still get back to enjoy this.

    It is very difficult to say what day is the best day to spend at the resort versus a park. This year there will likely be a special event party at the beach too but that schedule has not been announced and is not a definite experience at this point.
