We are staying at Fort Wilderness this Nov. and I am wondering if we still have access to the other resort pools etc and the transportation such as the monorail. I stayed there for 8 family trips as a kid and had access to everything then.

    Keri:

I know you will absolutely love your stay at the fort.  But let me warn you, a lot has changed over the years...

The pool near the Meadows Trading Post was renovated last year, complete with a water play station and themed slide.  This is probably one of the reasons why Disney's policy is for guests to only use the pools at their resorts: each resort has a pool that is equal to its status of Value, Moderate or Deluxe, in my opinion.  While some other resort pools may have better theming or more waterfalls and amenities, I think you'll find the pool at Fort Wilderness to provide a fun time for the family.

Disney transportation is another thing. It's all free, from the monorail to the buses, the ferries to the launches.  At the fort, you'll find bus transportation to Epcot, Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Downtown Disney, along with the water parks.  From the pier you can take a boat launch to Magic Kingdom.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
