If staying at Fort Wilderness, can you drive a golf cart to Wilderness Lodge? If not, what's the best way to get there?

    Hi Charlotte!

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is my favorite Walt Disney World Resort!  It's such a serene place to stay while still being so close to the magic.  We love to tent camp there every chance we get.

Renting or bringing your own golf cart while staying at Fort Wilderness is always a "must-do" for my family.  Joy riding at night through the different campsite and cabin loops to see how other guests have decorated is one of the highlights of staying at the campground.  There are tons of places on Fort Wilderness property where you can take the golf carts, but there is not a designated pathway for carts to get to Disney's Wilderness Lodge

There is a walking trail you can take that is about a mile long and is quite beautiful.  You might even spot some wildlife along the way!  It starts at Pioneer Hall and takes you right to Wilderness Lodge.  Another transportation option is to take a ferry boat from the Fort Wilderness marina.  The boat launch on the right side will take you to Wilderness Lodge.  The one on the left goes to Magic Kingdom Park.  There is golf cart parking right at the marina with first come, first serve outlets for charging your cart while you are away.

One quick and easy way to decorate your golf cart is to bring battery operated strings of lights and use either tape or zip ties to secure them to your cart.  It's fun to glow a little when you're driving around after dark.

Please stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.

    Have a magical day!
