Staying at Fort Wilderness Campground in May. Is there a better loop to be in that is spacious and private? Staying in preferred not sure if should upgrade to premimum. Can you purchase park tickets at FW. Thanks for your help!

    Tammie:

Believe it or not, some of the most spacious sites at Fort Wilderness aren't the premium or even the preferred sites, but the full hook-ups!  But, if you're going at a popular time of the year (which is becoming more and more ANY time of year), the fulls can also be the worst (I'm thinking the 1900 loops with its dropoffs into gnarly root land).

I agree that the preferred spots in the 100 and 200 loops are tight, but if you don't want to pay to upgrade to a premium (which usually give you a larger spot as well as a larger pad), I recommend making a note on your reservation that you would prefer NOT to be in the 100 or 200 loops and would like a larger lot on the OUTSIDE of a loop.  (The inside spots are not as "private.") Be aware that you may have compromise, as some of the larger spots with more wooded areas that allow privacy are also pet loops. However, we've never been disturbed by barking dogs in a pet loop and actually prefer one because neighbors are out and about with their pets, and we get to know folks a little better....

We've found that the more specific we can be on what we want in a camping spot, the more Disney has to go on in making our accommodations more comfortable, after all, they truly do want you to have a memorable vacation, especially the staff at the fort.

As for Park Tickets, yes, you can purchase them at the Concierge Desk in the Outpost at the same counter where you check in.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
