We're staying at Fort Wilderness Campground. What is the easiest way to get to magic kingdom? Hollywood studios? Epcot? From the campground. Is there a parking charge if we were to take our own vehicle from the campgrounds to each resort? Thanks!

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Bryan. Thanks for stopping by with your question.

I love staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. My family and I stay there a few times a year whether in an RV or sometimes we rent a cabin. It's always a lot of fun.

I think you'll be happy with the complimentary transportation options to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks from the campground, Bryan. To get to Magic Kingdom Park you'll take a boat which leaves from the Settlement Area. It's a really fun 10-minute ride and it drops you off right at the entrance to the theme park. To get to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney Springs and the Water Parks you'll take one of the complimentary busses that pick you up from the Outpost area. Because the campground is so large and spread out, you'll also find an internal bus running that goes to all of the different bus stops around Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. This can be really handy depending on where you will be staying at.

Since you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, you actually receive complimentary theme park parking at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. I personally really like driving myself when I am at Walt Disney World. I love to be on my own schedule. The parking lots open up about 45 minutes to 1 hour prior to the theme park's scheduled opening time. When you arrive, you'll stop at the attendant booth and scan your MagicBand or Keys to the World Card. The Cast Member will verify that you are an on-property Guest and you'll be directed where to park. Be sure to take note of where you park your car, Bryan. At the end of a long day at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, it can be hard to remember exactly where your car is. I like to take a picture of the lot and the row that I am in and text it to someone else in my group. That way if my phone dies, we have a backup.

I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help.

    Have fun!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
