We will be staying a the fort Wilderness campground for 10 days over Christmas 2014. What are the limitations or rules for Christmas decorations and lights. I been reading in trip advisor that people been ask to remove all christmas light they had install.

Hi Pierre! The Halloween and Christmas holidays come alive in Fort Wilderness with so many of their guests decorating their sites for everyone to enjoy.

In the past few years Disney has tried to allow all guests to enjoy these celebrations but at the same time making sure that everyone remains safe. Decoration rules have been put into place but generally most guests have no difficulty adhering to them. You cannot put decorations on any other site but your own and your decorations can not extend beyond your site. Nothing can be near sidewalks and roads and stopping or parking on the roads is prohibited. Decorations need to be tasteful and if they see anything that might be dangerous such as wires and cords that are not appropriate for outdoor use etc they will ask to have them removed.

In the past many enthusiastic guests went above and beyond their own site and infringed on public areas. Disney will let them know this is not allowed and ask them to remove the decorations.

I will be in the Fort this year for both of those holidays and have my tasteful decorations ready to go. Each year can bring new rules but I know that so many Disney resort guests flock to see what the Fort Wilderness guests do to decorate so doubt that it will be ended completely at any time soon.
