Hello! We will be staying at the Fort Wilderness cabins in March with our 2 and 4 year old daughters, plus I will be 5 months pregnant. I am going back and forth of whether to rent a golf cart for the week. Are they really needed to get around? Thanks!

Hi Erica!  Congratulations on your upcoming arrival!  You do not need to rent a golf cart when staying at the Fort.  In fact, most people do not.  The resort has its own internal bus system that can transport you to central locations like the docks to the Magic Kingdom, the general store, etc.  In my experience, these buses run frequently and are convenient.  When my family stays at the cabins, we do rent a cart, largely because my two boys think it's so much fun to "drive around" in one.  In fact, they list it as one of the highlights of our stays there.

While you are at the resort, you might want to check out some of the unique entertainment and other activities available, including:
    - The Hoop-de-Do Review
    - Mickey's Backyard Barbecue
    - Campfire sing alongs with Chip and Dale
    - Segway tours (this is one of the newest and most unique tours at Disney)
    - Tri-Circle D Ranch for horse-back riding and carriage rides
    - Catch and Release Fishing

Click HERE for more detailed information about the Fort and any of the items I listed above.

    Have a wonderful trip!
