Hello, we are staying at Fort Wilderness Cabins in June, we would like to go to The broadwalk to look around our first night how do we get there? and how much time should we allow? Thanks

Hi Amy! Going from resort to resort will always take a little more time when using the complimentary Disney bus system.  There are no direct lines so you will need to make a transfer at a park or Downtown Disney or take a taxi.

I have stayed at the Fort many, many times as we have a motor coach and have used a taxi to get over to the Boardwalk area.  The front desk can give you the number and the wait is rather short...about 10-15 minutes.  The ride in taxi takes only about 12 minutes and the cost is approximately $12-$15.

If you take the bus you have different options. You can catch one to the Hollywood Studios and then walk to the Boardwalk or take the boat. At best this would take you about 30 minutes but that is if you didn't have to wait on a bus or boat.  Another option is to take a bus to Epcot and then walk through Future World until you get to the International Gateway bridge (right side). Exit there and cross over the next bridge you see and you will have landed on Boardwalk.  This again at best is a 35 minute trip and a lot of walking.

To get home if it is after park hours you can catch a bus to Downtown Disney and transfer at any stop there back to Fort Wilderness. Hope this helps with your planning!
