We are staying at the Fort Wilderness cabins at the end of July. We have res. for breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table at 8:20 am on our first morning. How much time should we allow to get to Magic Kingdom and to the castle? The park does not open til 9

    Hi Kimberly,

You must be very excited to be dining with Cinderella later this month!  Cinderella's Royal Table is a much sought-after dining reservation.

I always suggest that you leave an hour between your point of origin and destination while traveling about Walt Disney World, especially when you are trying to arrive in time for a dining reservation.  I think that estimate would be fitting in this case too since you will need to enter the Magic Kingdom early and walk all the way down Main Street U.S.A. to Cinderella Castle.  (Be sure to have your camera with you for that lovely, early morning walk.  It is very special to capture photos of the Magic Kingdom without many other guests in the frame.)

The easiest way to get from your resort to the Magic Kingdom is to board the boat that runs from the resort dock to the Magic Kingdom.  This ride takes about 20 minutes.  Be sure to call Guest Services at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground the day before your breakfast reservation to confirm that the boats will be running that early.  If they are not, the Cast Members will suggest an alternative form of transportation (likely a bus).  In either case, I'd allow yourself a full hour to reach your destination.

Have a magical trip in July!  Please say hello to Cinderella for me.
