We will be staying at Fort Wilderness Cabins. We will also have a car, is it ok to drive to the outpost and leave the car in the parking lot and take a bus to the park? Thanks.

Hi Cheri! You will be staying at my favorite Walt Disney World resort, the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. The cabins are wonderful and have recently been refurbished over this past year. They are fresh and offer the guests better amenities with the cabins.

The Fort Wilderness resort is Disney's largest resort land wise and they have a great internal bus system that will connect its guests with all parts. The bus stops are close by to all loops so if you wish to park your car at your cabin then feel free to use these buses. They will drop you off at the marina for the Magic Kingdom and the front bus depot for all other Disney locations and parks. You can also use it to reach the pool and Chip and Dale's Campfire Singalong.

If you prefer to drive to the front you are allowed to do that. At times parking spots will be far and few between so be aware of that. In the evenings they generally hope only those guests coming in from the outside will use the parking areas to reach Hoop Dee Doo and Chip and Dales Campfire Singalong as well as Mickey's Backyard Barbecue dining event. But there will not be a guard patrolling this lot.

Hope you enjoy your stay at the Fort. Keep watch for my favorite deer friends and turkey flocks. They simply make me smile every time I get a chance to see them!
