Howdy, Megan! I'm so glad you came back around to sit a spell with your Disney Parks Moms Panel pals. Let's get your transportation options sorted for your visit to the wilderness!
In my family, we are huge fans of the
Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Each Cabin is well-appointed with a living room, a bedroom, and a full kitchen stocked with plates, glasses, cookware, a coffee maker, and more. Plus, with so much to see and do at "the Fort," there's never a dull moment!
When it comes to getting around this very large Resort, you have a few options. I just called and posed your question about
Minnie Van Service to a Cast Member, and she informed me that the vans do not serve each Cabin directly, and that you would meet your driver at the bus stop just outside your loop.
While not absolutely necessary, we always rent a golf cart for our stay. It's so convenient, and a golf cart is an ideal way to explore all the Fort has to offer. Alternatively, the Resort's free internal bus service has stops at each loop and all of the common areas, making it easy to get around the Fort and to transfer to another bus or a boat bound for the Theme Parks.
Megan, you might consider renting a golf cart for just part of your stay, and relying on the internal bus service for the rest. That will give you a chance to really explore the Resort while saving a bit of money. If you do decide to
rent a golf cart at Fort Wilderness, be sure to reserve it in advance as they usually sell out.
I hope this helps you explore the wilderness, Megan! Please come visit us again if you have any more questions!
