Howdy Ron!
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is my favorite Walt Disney World Resort! It feels like a home away from home, yet you're still in Mickey's backyard! My family often tent camps at Fort Wilderness throughout the year and stays in the cabins a couple of times a year. We can't get enough!
Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is a rather large property. To get around, you can take the internal bus transportation anywhere you need to go. To get to Disney's Hollywood Studios, Epcot or Disney's Animal Kingdom, you'll take a bus from the Outpost Depot located at the front of the Resort. To get to Magic Kingdom Park, a ferry boat will take you from the Settlement Depot, located at the marina. To get to another Disney Resort hotel, you'll take the ferry boat to Magic Kingdom Park and then hop on a Resort transportation bus to your desired Resort hotel.
I highly suggest
renting a golf cart during your stay at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. This will eliminate the need to use the internal buses to get around and save you time. Bonus: it's fun! Golf carts are my family's "must-do" when camping. They are especially fun after dark when you can joy ride around the campground and see all the lights and decorations other campers have adorned on their website. Reservations can be made in advance.
Please come back and visit if you have any additional questions or need any recommendations for activities to do at Disney's Fort Wilderness.
Have a magical day!
