Hi Stephen! I’m so excited that you’re staying at the Walt Disney World Resort for the first time. Let’s jump right in!
When you are booking a vacation through the Walt Disney World website, once booked, the vacation typically shows up in the
My Plans section of My Disney Experience. To book two reservations, you would need to complete those transactions separately. Just ensure you select one Guest to be the first Guest listed on the reservation for the room you're not staying in and enter
their address and other pertinent information. If you are paying for all or some of their reservation, you would enter your credit card information and billing address at the checkout stage. If you already have a vacation booked, you can simply
go to the linking page and enter the confirmation number and the lead Guest's last name.
The easiest way to get started booking a vacation is to input your information right there on
the homepage of the website (under the blue menu) and click the green “Find Prices” button. This will give you all of your options for the dates you're looking to travel. There are many different choices when it comes to hotels, so let me break down some of the basics of them and your current ticket choices.
- Deluxe Resort Hotels have the most amenities, typically including quick-service and table-service restaurants, pools with slides, fitness centers, and often great locations near one or more theme parks. That last part makes it easy to travel to and from the theme parks each day. While these are the most expensive, they currently offer access to Extended Evening Theme Park Hours on select nights at select parks.
- Moderate Resort Hotels typically have at least one table-service restaurant, as well as a quick-service location and great pools with slides. They usually have fitness centers as well. They are typically priced between Value and Deluxe Hotels.
- Value Resort Hotels are usually farther from the theme parks and have a quick-service restaurant with no table-service option. However, they are typically the most affordable and offer great accommodations at a smaller price point.
- Currently, all Disney Resorts Collection Hotels offer access to Early Theme Park Entry, meaning you can enter the parks 30 minutes before other Guests. There is also complimentary transportation to and from the parks and the ability to book Lightning Lanes (a separate purchase you can typically make when in the United States) and advanced dining reservations sooner than Guests not staying at these hotels.
- Good Neighbor Hotels are those that partner with Disney but do not have the same perks and benefits as Disney-owned hotels. While some will give you access to Early Entry, not all will, so be sure to check the details.
- Currently, Guests from the UK and Ireland can purchase a 7-Day or 14-Day Magic Ticket ahead of their trip. These tickets are incredible values and typically include Memory Maker, the Park Hopper Option, and access to the water parks.
Stephen, always remember that you have the option to
contact a friendly Cast Member at the resort for help and to request that your two rooms be adjoining or near each other. While they will always do their best to honor your request, it is not guaranteed. And of course,
I’m also here for you if you have any other questions.
Happy planning,
Matt
