We are staying in a DVC room with grandparents. How can we keep our(me, husband and children) genie + and ILL purchases, as well as mobile ordering payments separate from theirs? Can each family link their own credit card to the room reservation?

Hey there, Christy! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so happy that you've stopped by with your vacation planning question.

In just a few months, you and your family will be excitedly arriving at The Most Magical Place on Earth, ready to begin your pixie-dusted family adventure at one of the amazing Disney Vacation Club Resorts! I am SO happy and excited for all of you! Big family vacations are always full of big fun. Since you already know about mobile ordering, Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane purchases, you are ahead of the game, and your planning is off to a fantastic start. Let's tie up all of your loose planning ends that you can sit back, relax, and start your magical vacation countdown!

I think that you will be happy to hear that while one credit card will be linked to the Resort reservation for incidentals and MagicBand purchases to the Resort hotel account, keeping your mobile order, Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane purchases separate from the grandparents' purchases will be a breeze using the My Disney Experience app! I would suggest that each separate family get their own My Disney Experience account and app (Just be sure that everyone is linked on your Family & Friends List!). That way, each family can store their preferred payment method to make mobile checkout fast and easy. However, if you don't want separate My Disney Experience accounts, Hakuna Matata! It means no worries! The My Disney Experience app can store up to six different credit cards to your Disney account for easy app transactions.

To add a payment method, log in to your My Disney Experience app, click "My Profile," then "Payment Method" and "Add a Payment Method." Once your preferred payment methods are added, any time you make an app purchase, such as mobile ordering, Genie+, or Individual Lightning Lane selections, you will be given the option to use this payment method or "Use a Different Payment Method." So, as long as purchases are made on the app, you should be all set to keep your spending separate.

When I hear that grandparents will be with you on this vacation, I immediately think, "Built-in babysitters!" Take advantage of this and plan a date night for you and your husband! I suggest starting the evening at Enchanted Rose at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for a cocktail (Try the Lavender Fog ... AMAZING!) and an appetizer, and then take the monorail to Disney's Contemporary Resort for an incredible dinner at Steakhouse 71. If you time it right, you might be able to catch the Disney Enchantment fireworks spectacular from the Contemporary after dinner!

Christy, I hope that this was helpful, and I hope that you have the best summer family vacation! Please stop by any time with any vacation planning questions.

I hope to see ya real soon,
