Welcome back to planDisney, Ben! I'm thrilled to see you again and help you with your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning. Let's explore the different Disney-affiliated hotel accommodations that are not necessarily part of the
Disney Resort Collection (in terms of being owned and operated by Disney).
On the Disney World website's "Places to Stay" section, you'll find a category called "More Great Accommodations." Within that, there’s a sub-category titled "
Walt Disney World Official Hotels: Disney Springs Resort Area." Here, you'll see hotels located off Hotel Plaza Blvd, including the
Drury Plaza Hotel Orlando Lake Buena Vista. As a Walt Disney World Official Hotel, Drury Plaza offers excellent proximity to the theme parks and Disney Springs, a Guest Services desk for vacation planning, and transportation to the parks (additional fees may apply). It’s also considered an “Other Select Hotel” for perks like
Early Theme Park Entry for Disney Resort Hotel Guests.
In contrast,
Good Neighbor Hotels are located just outside Disney World's property. While they meet Disney’s high standards, they don’t offer the same benefits as the Disney Resorts Collection or More Great Accommodations hotels.
Since you're staying at Drury Plaza near
Disney Springs, I’d love to suggest some dining options. My personal favorites include Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, Enzo’s Hideaway, and The Edison. I'm also excited to try Summer House on the Lake this fall with my planDisney friends. Don't miss my favorite breakfast spot, Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew, for delicious homemade donuts and special iced coffee.
If you have any more questions about your upcoming stay,
just let me know!
Until then,
Brent
