Howdy, Jeremy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and early happy birthday wishes to you! I can't think of a better place to celebrate than Walt Disney World. Many years ago, I celebrated my 16th birthday at the
Walt Disney World Dolphin. I have had a few stays at that resort since then, and my favorite aspects are its location in the
Epcot Resort Area, its
wonderful pool area, and the Heavenly Beds® in the guest rooms.
In my opinion, one of the best places to stay in all of Walt Disney World is the Epcot Resort Area. Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney's BoardWalk Inn, the Walt Disney World Dolphin, and the Walt Disney World Swan, share a picturesque location on Crescent Lake, and convenient walking paths or
watercraft transportation to TWO theme parks - Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios. While I enjoy taking the Friendship Boats for a relaxing journey to and from the parks during the day, there is nothing better than being able to walk "home" from Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios after the evening's fireworks. No need to wait in line for transportation - just have your own two feet walk you right back to that Heavenly Bed®!
During your stay at the Walt Disney World Dolphin, you'll also be in walking distance to a plethora of fabulous dining options at the neighboring resorts, as well as the entertainment and excitement of
Disney's Boardwalk. For a signature dining experience in close proximity to your resort and family friendly, I recommend
Flying Fish on Disney's Boardwalk. It has always been one of my family's favorites, and has a variety of kid-approved options.
If I were celebrating my birthday in Walt Disney World this month, I would also see about snagging a reservation at
Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera at the brand new
Disney's Riviera Resort. I had the opportunity recently to have breakfast here, and I can't wait to try dinner at this incredibly beautiful restaurant set atop the resort. I think your family would enjoy taking the
Disney Skyliner (the Epcot International Gateway station is a short walk from your resort) to this restaurant for a wonderful celebratory meal.
Last but not least, be sure to dedicate some time to enjoying the amenities at the Walt Disney World Dolphin. In addition to the themed pool area, there is also an onsite
miniature golf course (for an extra fee), and some
delicious dining options. I like
the Fountain for casual diner-style dishes, and
Shula's Steak House if fresh steaks in an upscale, contemporary setting are more your family's style.
I wish you a very happy birthday, and a magical family vacation, Jeremy!
