Hi! We are staying at the Dolphin Hotel for the first time. We just found out that the Disney Magical Express does not serve this hotel. What is our best option to get to/from the airport?

Hi there Audra, and welcome to planDisney! Consider me your personal Fairy Godmother, but instead of finding you a ride to the Prince's ball, I'll help get you to the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel

I may not be able to turn a pumpkin into a carriage, but I do have a few suggestions for transportation from Orlando International Airport. Rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft are available, and fare estimates can be calculated on each company's website. Luxury vehicles, taxis, limos, and shuttles are offered by Mears and can be reserved online in advance.

Additionally, there are plenty of onsite rental car companies at the airport if you prefer to do the driving. This is a great option if you plan to venture offsite during your stay to pick up groceries or visit nearby attractions. The Walt Disney World Car Care Center, located just outside the Magic Kingdom Park, offers car rentals and complimentary shuttle service (pending availability) to and from your Resort Hotel. If you only need the car for transportation to and from the airport, you could do a one-way rental from the airport and then another one-way rental when it's time to depart. While this would save you from having to pay the daily parking fee at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, it would be time-consuming, so I would suggest this for longer stays.

One last thing to consider is if you have any younger Mouseketeers in your party that require car seats or booster seats. One of the greatest advantages of Disney's Magical Express® is that we can leave those cumbersome items behind. Uber offers Uber Car Seat, which my family and I have used in the Orlando area in the past, and Mears also has some family-friendly transportation options. My oldest is now tall enough that we travel with an inflatable booster seat, and we recently used it in a rental car. Before inflating, it's compact enough to fit in carry-on luggage.

Audra, I hope this gives you some ideas for reaching your destination. My husband and I are both teachers, and we have benefited from the educator discounts offered at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort. We love that staying there puts us right in the middle of the EPCOT resort area, our favorite "neighborhood" in Walt Disney World. Be sure to stroll over to World Showcase and check out what's blooming at the Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival. Everything from the topiaries to the freshly prepared small plates looks fantastic. Take a look at this recent Disney Parks Blog post detailing the tasty treats; it makes my tummy rumbly just reading it!

Thanks again for stopping by, and we'll see ya real soon!
