We are staying at Disney's All Star Sports resort for daughters cheer comp. If we don't qualify for nationals and have already made reservations to stay, can we still stay there?

    Hey Angela!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Mom Panel! Thank you for bringing us this great question.

I just chatted with a wonderful cast member at Disney Sports Travel to make sure I am giving you the most up-to-date information:  Each team must submit their reservation request for the entire team to be eligible for the discounted resort pricing. The reservations are held on a team level not on an individual family level. If a team fails qualify for a competition that entire team's reservation is cancelled.

My suggestion would be, if you would like to visit Walt Disney World during that time go ahead and make a room only reservation for your family. If your team does end up qualifying for the competition then you can simply cancel your personal reservation and stay with the team.

The room only cancellation policy according to the Walt Disney World website says that you will be eligible for a full refund of your deposit if you notify them of the cancellation at least five days prior to your arrival date. To make the cancellation you would call (407) 939-7429.

It's my understanding that you will know a week or more ahead of time whether you have qualified, giving you plenty of time to make the cancellation before the five days.

I hope this helps with your planning. If you have any other questions please come back and see me.

Wishing you great luck on your competition season and a pixie-dusted day!
