Christine Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I will be staying at Disney’s Riviera Resort for the first time later this year. I do not ride elevators. Would I be able to use stairs freely to access the guest rooms within the resort? Are stairs available to me to visit Topolino’s Terrace as well?

    Bonjour Christine!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney as you prepare to stay at one of my favorite hotels in the Disney Resorts Collection - Disney's Riviera Resort. I love everything about this property, from the scents and sounds to the gorgeous guest rooms.

I am happy to share that you can enjoy all areas of this resort without using elevators. Depending on the location of my room, I often use the stairs if they are closer to my destination. I spoke with a Cast Member to confirm that several staircases are available for Guest use at Disney's Riviera Resort, including two in the east wing that will take you to Topolino's Terrace - Flavors of the Riviera. Remember that the restaurant is on the tenth floor, so give yourself ample time to make the ascent. Fortunately, sweeping views and incredible food await you at the top! I love the rigatoni dinner entree and the wood-fired steak and eggs at breakfast. Bon appetit!

I hope this puts your mind at ease for your upcoming stay, Christine. For more convenient access to your room during your vacation, I recommend using the Room Request dropdown menu during online check-in and selecting "Lower Floor." This way, you'll be closer to most resort amenities and transportation. A few years ago, I stayed in a first-floor room at Disney's Riviera Resort, and the Disney Skyliner station was just steps from my patio. I didn't have to use stairs or an elevator during my vacation, and it was awesome!

One last quick tip: Disney's Riviera Resort has some of the best quick-service food in Walt Disney World. A few of my family's favorites at Primo Piatto include the blueberry-lemon pancakes, the banana bread, and the croque monsieur. The Romano and herbed fries are a unique take on Walt Disney World french fries, and we love to order them as a shared snack for the table at lunch.

Thanks again for sending your question our way, Christine, and have a magical day!

    Au revoir,
    Betsy
