We'll be staying at Disneys Port Royal- Riverside. I can take a bus to the parks, and a boat to the Springs. Would I take a bus to Magic Kingdom and get on a boat to Fort Wilderness? How would I get to the Animal Kingdom Lodge - boardwalk?

Greetings from planDisney, Kim! It’s a pleasure to welcome you hEAR!

Kim, I love post-holiday trips and there is no better place to find the Magic in a new yEAR than at the Walt Disney World Resort. And… since the celebrations honoring the 50th anniversary will continue throughout 2022, you’ll be just in time to enjoy the merriment!

Now, from your question it sounds like you have a full itinerary, so let’s talk about transportation around the “world.” First, you are correct that from Disney’s Port Orleans Resort- Riverside you’ll use bus transportation to all four theme parks. You can also use the buses to theme parks as a “layover” to your next destination. For example, if you’re headed to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, take a bus to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and instead of heading into the park, look for the bus over to the lodge.

Kim, if you’d like to try out an alternate mode of transportation when visiting Disney’s BoardWalk and fly as the birds do, I recommend taking a bus to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and then hopping aboard the Disney Skyliner to EPCOT. From there it’s a short stroll to Disney’s BoardWalk.

Kim, I’d like to say you’re “on the right track” to get to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, but since it involves a boat, I’ll say, “anchors away!” Yes, from your resort, you can take a bus to Magic Kingdom Park and then head toward the boat docks where you’ll see two separate lines: one for Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and the other for Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

One final transportation tip I’ll offer up is the option to use Disney Springs as a bus transfer station. If you have a non-park day and are already planning for some shopping or dining, you can easily use this location as your layover between your Disney Resorts Collection hotel and your next destination.

I hope this helps as you’re planning out your days at the Most Magical Place on Earth. If we can be of any more assistance, please find the nearest bus, train, monorail, boat or skyliner and enter planDisney as your stop.

Wishing you a pixie dusted stay,
    Lauren
