Hello I will be staying at the Disneyland resort hotel in July and was looking for an activity outside of the park. I noticed there is a washcloth creation activity listed. Can you tell me more about this? Do I need a reservation? How long does it take?

    Hi Ginger,

Thanks for visiting planDisney! I always enjoy staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel. The magic doesn’t end when I leave the parks; it follows me right back to my hotel. There's a whole new world to explore right where you're staying!

Each Disneyland Resort Hotel offers guests a variety of fun activities, including fitness classes, hotel tours, movies, and more. When you check in, a friendly Cast Member will provide you with a flyer listing the current offerings at your hotel. One of my personal favorites is movie night. Right now one of my favorite moves, A Goofy Movie, is playing at the Disneyland Hotel on Tuesday evenings. The movies and activities change, so I can't wait to see what will be offered in July.

Hidden Gem Alert: I did a little digging and discovered a charming offering at The Villas at Disneyland Hotel — a Washcloth Creations class at the Discovery Den! During this fun and creative session, guests learn how to fold washcloths into whimsical shapes. Even better, you get to take your creation home at no additional cost! I confirmed with a helpful Cast Member that no reservation is required, but supplies may be limited, so I recommend arriving early.

When you’re ready for a change of pace outside the parks, don’t forget about the Downtown Disney District. It’s a fantastic spot to relax, shop, dine, or enjoy live entertainment. Recently, Downtown Disney has seen some exciting upgrades, and there’s more to come! One of my favorite additions is the open grassy area near the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage, where kids can play while adults unwind. My daughter loves running around there and making new friends!

You’ll also want to check out the nightly entertainment schedule. I’ve seen everything from DJs to Polynesian dancers to live rock bands. For even more great recommendations, check out the Ultimate Guide to Downtown Disney on the Disney Parks Blog website.

I hope this helps with your planning, Ginger! If you have any more questions or want personalized tips, feel free to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We're always here to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your Disney adventure.

    Have a magical vacation!
