Welcome BACK, Lori!
It's so good to see your name pop back up, asking another wonderful Disney Parks vacation planning question to us hEAR at planDisney. And this time you're off to Walt's Original Park,
Disneyland Resort! How exciting!
Oh, breakfast with royalty sounds like the best way to start your last Disney day. And you're staying at one of my favorite places, the
Disneyland Hotel. Wow, this vacation sounds wonderful. Do you need a helper or a personal tour guide? I'm also in Texas, so I could meet you at the airport. Technically yes, you absolutely could check out of your room and bring your luggage with you to the Bell Services location at
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa. This drop-off is located outside of the main lobby, under the covered driveway of the main entrance.
However, I would actually encourage you to use the Bell Services team at the Disneyland Hotel. To get between your hotel bed and your hotel breakfast locations, you will have to walk the back way across Disneyland Drive as luggage larger than 24" long x 15" wide by 18" high cannot be brought through the security checkpoints of the
Downtown Disney District which connect the two hotels in their shortest path. Smaller luggage and bags can enter the checkpoints; however, each piece will need to be opened and inspected by the security team. If you plan to travel with only rollaboards and carry-ons and you're okay with the check, be sure to add in about 5 extra minutes of travel time per bag. If you'd rather not have your items sEARched or you'll be traveling with larger luggage that you'd still like to bring to the Californian with you, check out a map of the path you'd need to take by
clicking hEAR; once the map populates, it'll show you a close up of
Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel. Click anywhere on the map to get rid of the white text bubble, and then look at the circle driving round-a-bout just north of the Paradise Pier Hotel. To get from the Disneyland Hotel to the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, you'll basically follow the sidewalks from the south or east-most buildings at the Disneyland Hotel towards that circle drive then circle around to the 3 o'clock position on the round-a-bout to head towards The Grand Californian. There is only a crosswalk at the Disneyland Drive light unlike the pedestrian bridge of the Downtown Disney District that crosses over the same road. Once in the entryway of the Grand, you'll have to show your Disneyland Hotel room key as this sidewalk entrance (which some like to take to enter the side entrance of
Disney California Adventure Park) is only available to guests of a Disneyland Resort Hotel. This sidewalk will lead you directly to the Bell Services team at Disney's Grand Californian.
I hope that this helped to better plan your upcoming Disney days, Lori! Be sure to follow the
