Hi Shannon,
Thanks for visiting planDisney! I am so excited for your stay at the
Disneyland Hotel. I absolutely love the rooms there, and the musical headboard with the backlit Sleeping Beauty Castle is just breathtaking. I literally teared up the first time I stayed there. I, too, am sad that the
Disneyland Monorail is currently closed, but I’m here to help you find an alternative to get to the park.
Currently, the Disneyland Hotel is not offering a shuttle to the park. The tram to the Disneyland Resort parks runs from the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking structures to the main entrance esplanade between Disneyland and California Adventure. I recommend renting an electric conveyance vehicle (ECV) to help you get around. When I’m at the park, I can easily hit 30,000 steps, and the walk from the Disneyland Hotel to the park entrances is a bit of a walk. An ECV might provide you with the comfort and accessibility you need to enjoy the day.
ECVs are available to rent in the Esplanade just east of the Disneyland entrance gates. You’ll pay a rental fee, and then you’ll be able to take off and enjoy your day. The ECVs provided by the resort cannot be reserved in advance, so it’s best to arrive early, as they’re available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Since you’re staying at a Disneyland Hotel, you also have the option to rent an ECV for the length of your stay. These can be reserved in advance through Disney’s featured mobility device partner. You can find all the details on the
ECV and Wheelchair Rentals page—just scroll down to the section called “Disney Featured Provider.”
Shannon, I hope this information was helpful. Your stay may overlap with the
Lunar New Year Celebration (Jan. 17–Feb. 16) or the
Food and Wine Festival (Feb. 28–April 21) at California Adventure. Both events feature tons of tasty food and delicious beverages! If you have any other questions or need help planning, feel free to write back to me or my fellow panelists. We’d be happy to share our thoughts.
Just keep swimming!
