I will be staying at the Disneyland Hotel. Is it far for a child of 10 years to walk to the Disney Downtown Distric and/or to the parks entrances from the hotel?

Hi, Shelley! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for your question.

The Disneyland Hotel is my absolute favorite hotel at the Disneyland Resort! I love all the history and ambiance that this hotel offers and I find the walk to the parks to be really enjoyable. Your 10-year-old should have no problem strolling through the Downtown Disney District to Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. I would say the walk takes about 10 minutes depending on your speed. Your child might also like passing by The LEGO Store and other really cool shops on the way to the parks.

Another fun option to get to Disneyland Park would be to take the Disneyland Monorail. The station is very close to the Disneyland Hotel and it will drop you off inside the park in Tomorrowland. You can also take it back at the end of the day when everyone's legs are in need of a break. Valid theme park admission is required to take the monorail from the Downtown Disney District location. Keep in mind that it will probably take longer to take the monorail than to walk to the parks, so only ride it when you aren't in a time crunch.

When either the theme parks or the amazing pool with dual monorail slides at the Disneyland Hotel await you at either end, this walk is pretty easy for people of any age.

I hope your trip to the Disneyland Resort is filled with magical memories!
