When staying at the Disneyland Hotel and celebrating a birthday for a child does/can the staff do anything to make it special?

Hi there, Yesica, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney! We’re so glad you’re here!

There’s no better place to celebrate a birthday than at the Happiest Place on Earth! You’re going to make so many special memories together. First off, you picked a wonderful spot as your magical homebase, Yesica! The Disneyland Hotel is my family’s favorite, thanks to the awesome monorail waterslides, classic Disney theming, and delicious dining options

Now, let’s talk birthdays! One of my favorite birthday suggestions doesn’t cost a thing – it’s a complimentary birthday button! You can pick one up from City Hall in Disneyland Park, Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park, or even at the front desk of your hotel. When Guests wear these special buttons, Characters and Cast Members often make an extra effort to send special birthday greetings their way! You never know what kind of pixie dust may be sent your way, so I recommend picking up a button for your special birthday child!

Next, nothing says “Happy Birthday!” like cake, am I right?! I recommend making a reservation for a special birthday meal, along with ordering a delicious Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake. These scrumptious cakes can be delivered to Blue Bayou Restaurant, Café Orleans, and River Belle Terrace (in Disneyland Park), and Lamplight Lounge and Wine Country Trattoria (in Disney California Adventure Park). Each cake feeds between four to six people, and comes in chocolate or white chocolate. You can even add a special “Happy Birthday” message to it! To order a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake, you can either add it to your dining reservation at least three days before your reservation, or you can order it in-person at the restaurant’s host podium, or at the Concierge Desk at the Disneyland Hotel.

Another fun birthday experience at the Disneyland Resort is having a themed gift-basket delivered to your hotel room, or even having your hotel room decorated for the occasion with a Disneyland Resort Room Celebration! Unfortunately, these experiences aren’t currently available, but since you’re visiting in late March, I recommend checking the website closer to your visit in case these experiences will be available by then.

I hope these ideas help your child celebrate the most magical birthday, Yesica! Please stop by with any additional questions… we’re all EARs!

Meet the Panelist: Kristin, California

Greetings from sunny California! I live less than an hour from the Disneyland Resort, and have been an Annual Passholder (and now a Magic Key Passholder) for more than 20 years! As a mom of three kids ages 5-10, I consider myself an expert at navigating the Disneyland Resort with little ones. My family of five can’t get enough of the magic and happiness we encounter every time we step foot on Main Street, U.S.A. I look forward to sprinkling pixie dust on your next visit to the Happiest Place on Earth! Learn More About Kristin
