Hello, Tom and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!
Tom, I love
dining around the Walt Disney World Resort and am happy to help you cook up a delicious vacation. The answer to your question depends upon the dining location you have chosen, so let's talk about possible situations.
First, you are welcome to order from the kids' menu at any
Quick Service dining location. At the Disney Resorts Collection hotels, inside the theme parks and at Disney Springs, you'll find a plethora of options that are considered Quick Service. One of my favorites is located at D
isney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park:
Satu'li Canteen. While you can't make reservations at Quick Service locations, many do accept
Mobile Orders!
Tom, you also have some flexibility at the more traditional Table Service restaurants. While officially the kids' menu at these locations is for Mouseketeers ages 3-9 years, I have found that the Cast Members are willing to let you order what fits your appetite. In addition to looking at the kids' menus, you may want to consider the appetizer menu as well. For example, over at
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen located inside
Magic Kingdom Park you'll see
salad and soup options that might be a great stand alone meal!
Finally, Tom there are a few restaurants that will NOT permit ordering from the kids' menu as these are fixed price experiences. For example,
Hollywood & Vine located at
Disney's Hollywood Studios offers shared starters with a choice of individual entrees AND a modified character experience. At restaurants that are all-you-care to eat or classified as family style or
prix fixe, you will need to pay the full adult price. Currently, the following restaurants would fall into this category (
please note that prior to your trip this list may change):
-Biergarten Restaurant
-Chef Mickey's
-The Crystal Palace
-Garden Grill Restaurant
-Hollywood & Vine
-Liberty Tree Tavern
-Topolino's Terrace- Flavors of the Riviera
-Cape May Cafe
Tom, I hope this information is helpful as you're looking ahead to your September vacation. If you have additional questions, I hope you'll come back and see your new friends hEAR at planDisney!
Wishing you a trip that is sweet, savory and has you thirsty for more!
Lauren
