Hello, We are staying at Disney World Resort from August 17 to Aug 20. With a 5 yr old and 2 yr old. Any suggested best way to do this. We do not plant to visit Epcot this time around. and would like to take afternoon breaks back at the hotel(car beach)

    Hello John,

I love seeing Dads here on the Moms Panel!

I only have the one daughter, but I know the fun - and challenges - or traveling with a preschooler, especially in August. But you and your family are going to have a blast!

Taking midday breaks are a fantastic idea. They are much needed and well deserved...for them and for you. The summer heat will really take its toll on all of you so a dip in the pool or a break in your Resort room will be a welcomed reprieve.

I know it sounds crazy on vacation, but if your kids are early birds, I say take advantage of it and get to the Theme Parks early! Disney offers Extra Magic Hours to its Resort Guests. It's a great way to get on some of your favorite attractions before anyone else!

With the little ones, when you hit the Magic Kingdom, head for Fantasyland first. I love starting my day with Dumbo and the other attractions there before it gets very crowded. In Hollywood Studios, you guessed it - Toy Story Midway Mania would be my first stop. And I would experience the Kilimanjaro Safari in Animal Kingdom to start my day. This way you have the most popular attractions done before your afternoon breaks!

One last tip, I always bring along a refillable water bottle with me into the Theme Parks. It's great for those times that the kids are inevitably thirsty while in line at your favorite attractions!

Hope this helps! Have a magical vacation!

My family loves our Main Street in Ohio. But there's simply no comparison to Main Street U.S.A.! We don't get to Disney quite as often as I'd like, but that just means finding new ways to sprinkle Pixie Dust on our adventures! Learn More About Monina
