Hiya Cory! Welcome to planDisney!
Oh boy! A visit to the
Magic Kingdom during the holiday season is one of the best times of the year to go! Main Street, U.S.A. is lined with festive décor and there are plenty of holiday offerings all around. Look out for some tasty treats while you explore around.
The
Disney Springs Resort Area has some wonderful options to stay at during your trip. You're within walking distance of countless dining and shopping locations at Disney Springs, including my all-time favorite
Gideon's Bakehouse. Each of these hotels offers transportation to and from the theme parks each day. When heading to the Magic Kingdom, these shuttle buses will drop you off at the Ticket and Transportation Center. You'll then need to hop on the monorail or ferry boat to get to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom. In order to get dropped off at the front of the Magic Kingdom, you would need to stay in a Disney Resorts hotel and utilize their complimentary bus transportation.
While this may seem like a minor inconvenience, I find it enjoyable to take another form of transportation to get to the park. Arriving at the Magic Kingdom by boat is a unique experience and can even be considered the first attraction of the day! My daughters love hopping on the monorail any chance they can get. Usually, we'll make time during our stay to hop to a few of the monorail resorts so our girls can go for a loop around the track.
Cory, I hope you have a magical time during your holiday stay! If you have some time, stop by the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to check out the
Gingerbread House in the main lobby. This life-size display sells countless sweet treats for you to take with you!
See ya real soon!
