Hi there, Nicole! Christmas is my very favorite time to visit
Walt Disney World. With the decorations and the
holiday festivities, I really find my Christmas spirit - despite the crowds.
I want to start by saying that the
Magic Kingdom, which is the park most likely to be impacted by closures, closes on average only six days per year. While a good number of those days are during Christmas week, that still leaves three other theme parks for you to pop into. Just make sure to head into the Magic Kingdom early on the day you want to be there.
The theme parks close in phases at Walt Disney World. The most closed is the last phase, phase four, where the park and the parking lot are completely closed to any additional guests, regardless of where you are staying. Just so your mind is at ease, the last Phase 4 closure was in 2009.
Walt Disney World resort guests will still be able to enter a theme park all the way through a Phase 3 closure.
You will experience crowds and long wait times, but use your FastPass+ selections, get there early or stay late, and take advantage of extra magic hours. Hopefully, the pixie dust and holiday mood will erase any concerns over crowds!
Have fun, Nicole!
Anna
