We will be staying at a Disney resort this summer and I'm wondering if the buses will run early to the park that is open for Magic Hours? How early should we arrive?

Hello, Grace.  I'm so glad you've stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

I think you will be happy to know that the Disney buses start running 1 hour prior to park opening, even for Extra Magic Hours.  For example, if extra magic hours are from 8-9 at Disney's Animal Kingdom theb bus will start running at 7 a.m.  From a lot of experience, I've found what works best for my family is to be at the bus stop ready to go about 45 minutes prior to park opening.  It gives us plenty of time to wait for the next bus to come and pick us up, travel time to the park, go through bag check and grab a spot in line to wait for the park to open.  Once we are in line, we usually have about 10 minutes or so to spare which isn't too bad. When we are waiting, we usually make a plan of attack for the morning like where we want to go first and the quickest route to get there.  I also use this time to make sure my daughter's autograph book and pen are in an accessible spot in our bag for the day and she has her pins out for trading.

I hope this helps!  If you have any other questions, please come back and ask me.  Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
