Hello Carol, and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with a very important planning question.
I am so happy to hear that you are planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort soon. You are a vacation planning rock star to be thinking of all the members of your travel party. I have my own mobility issues due to an old injury, and I can personally attest to the fact that
Disney Transportation goes above and beyond to accommodate everyone.
I am happy to tell you that all complimentary modes of Disney transportation,
bus,
boat, and
monorail, can accommodate a wheelchair or electric conveyance vehicle (ECV) to and from your Disney Resort Hotel. When preparing to board a bus from your resort, look for the area marked for guests using wheelchairs or ECVs. Guests using mobility devices will board buses first. Your entire party should wait with the member of your party in the wheelchair. They will board the bus immediately after they are secured.
You may want to consider
renting an ECV for the week from one of Disney’s Featured Providers. This will allow your relative to move about the park at their own pace without having to rely on someone to push them around. These providers will deliver your ECV directly to your resort and pick it up when you check out. I hope that helps with your planning. If you have any more questions, please come back and visit us again.
See ya real soon,
Andrea
