Hi there Susan, and a very warm welcome back to planDisney!
I must say it's so great to finally be able to answer one of your questions, especially since we can see just how often you've come back to planDisney for almost a decade now! It's always been so heartwarming to see how much time you devote online helping fellow Canadians planning their trips, navigating recent changes and
special offers available or even finding discounted Disney merchandise around Mississauga every week - and I'm happy to help you out once again.
When it comes to spending time at the pools around Walt Disney World Resort, it can sometimes feel so tempting to gaze out at an inviting pool belonging to another
Disney Resort Hotel location - especially if you know someone staying there as a guest - and want to experience it alongside them even for a day. I do remember that you succinctly put it best a few months ago when you wrote: "
You can only swim at the resort where you are a registered guest." However in order to expand on that properly when it comes to visiting friends, I also took the opportunity today to visit the Cast Members working at several Disney Resort Hotels including the Walt Disney World Swan Hotel about your question as I think it's best to go with the official stance from those working at these locations:
- That said, they also recommended speaking with the Cast Members at the Front Desk to explore your options; these policies may be subject to change without prior notice and may be at the discretion of management during your visit this year. Depending on your room type, occupancy and the size of your party, you may be able to register your friends to your room as additional guests in order for them to be able to properly enjoy these amenities together.
They also wanted to add that ultimately these policies are put in place out of respect to the other guests who have paid to stay at these Resort Hotels, as well as the Cast Members responsible for maintaining that level of experience that they have come to expect - the last thing they want to do is confront any guests who don't have permission to use the pools. In the meantime, why not consider spending the day together at a place like
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park instead as we look forward to more of your questions again here at planDisney!
Here's to helping Canadians and sharing the knowledge!
